Used 2014 GMC Acadia for Sale nearElmira, NY

How much does the 2014 GMC Acadia cost?

Prices have softened 12.73% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 741 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2014 GMC Acadia a good car?

Yes — the 2014 GMC Acadia earns a 4.73/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its safety, smooth ride, roomy interior, comfort, and upscale feel, especially for family trips. The overview also points to a plush, carlike three-row layout with broad appeal if you want a roomy family vehicle that feels more refined than a basic utility model. Even so, the market shows 29.6% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests you can shop selectively and still find value.

Is the 2014 GMC Acadia reliable?

Owners rate it 4.73/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with repeated praise for comfort, safety, and a trouble-free family-friendly character. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that it is a pleasant choice for highway driving and a reasonable contender when you keep the price down. GM’s 2-year, 24,000-mile maintenance plan adds some ownership support early on.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a few owners reported power steering issues, so condition and service history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 GMC Acadia?

At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on signs of prior body damage, uneven panel gaps, tire wear, and any steering or suspension concerns. Because this model is often bought for family use, make sure the interior, electronics, and seating functions all work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Acadia starts at $35,410 and climbs through 4 trim levels before reaching the loaded Denali tester. The base SLE-1 misses the front center airbag, while higher trims add more upscale touches and equipment; if you want the most premium feel, the Denali is the clear top-end choice.
• Powertrain: You get one engine, a 3.6-liter V6 with 288 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic. Front- or all-wheel drive is available, and the engine uses direct injection for better fuel economy and power.
• Safety package: The Acadia includes OnStar with automatic 911 assistance and stolen-vehicle tracking, plus a backup camera. Forward-collision alert and lane-departure warning are optional on the SLT-1 and SLT-2 and standard on the Denali, while blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert are standard only on the SLT-2 and Denali.
• Infotainment: The system includes a reconfigurable home screen, Bluetooth streaming audio, Pandora access, HD radio, USB connectivity, live traffic, weather alerts, voice recognition, and an optional rear-seat flip-down LCD screen and DVD player. The available Bose 5.1 Surround Sound system is a notable upgrade.
• Fuel efficiency: The Acadia is rated at 16 mpg in the city and close to 23 mpg on the highway.

Which 2014 GMC Acadia trim should I buy?

The 2014 GMC Acadia is offered in 4 trim levels: SLE-1, SLE-2, SLT-1, SLT-2.

Here's the short version:

• SLE-1: This is the entry point, but it misses the front center airbag that becomes standard on the rest of the lineup. Buy it only if you want the lowest-cost way into the Acadia and can live without some of the more upscale safety and convenience features.
• SLE-2: This trim adds more everyday usability and is the first one mentioned with the no-cost choice of reclining second-row bucket seats, which makes it a smart pick for families who value flexibility.
• SLT-1: This is the better-equipped middle ground if you want more comfort and available driver-assistance tech, since forward-collision alert and lane-departure warning are optional here.
• SLT-2: This is the best-value trim if you want the strongest mix of equipment and safety, because blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert are standard here and the safety tech package is more complete.

The safety package is strongest on the SLT-2 and Denali, while the base SLE-1 is the most limited.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 GMC Acadia?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 741 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.73% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $7,987, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 GMC Acadia's resale value?

The current average of $8,009 sits slightly below last year's $9,177.

That decline suggests the market has cooled, which can help you as a buyer now but may temper resale upside if you plan to sell soon. If you buy at the right price, you may have less depreciation risk than someone who paid closer to last year’s average. The Acadia’s broad family appeal and upscale image can still support demand, especially for well-kept examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.73/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 GMC Acadia safe?

The 2014 GMC Acadia earns top ratings from both the government and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The Acadia’s standout safety feature is its front center airbag, which is standard on every Acadia except the base SLE-1. Forward-collision alert and lane-departure warning are optional on the SLT-1 and SLT-2 and standard on the Denali. Blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert are standard only on the SLT-2 and Denali, so lower trims miss some of the most useful driver-assistance features.

Should I buy a 2014 GMC Acadia or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.73% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.73/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert evaluation highlights a plush, carlike three-row SUV with smooth, quiet highway manners and capable brakes.

The bottom line: The 2014 Acadia makes sense if you want a comfortable, upscale-feeling three-row SUV and you can find a clean example at a good price. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the current market gives you room to shop selectively and target the lower end of the range, but you should still prioritize condition and history over the cheapest listing.
