How much does the 2014 GMC Acadia cost?

Prices have softened 13.72% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 789 listings available, which gives you a modest pool of options to compare.

Is the 2014 GMC Acadia a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 4.73/5 user-rated SUV with an expert rating of 7/10. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, roomy interior, safety, comfort for family trips, and the upscale feel and extensive features. That lines up well with the Acadia’s role as a plush, carlike three-row SUV that aims to give you more refinement than a basic utility model.

If you want a roomy family vehicle with a semi-luxury personality, the Acadia fits that use case well. 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there’s some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2014 GMC Acadia reliable?

Owners rate it 4.73/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with praise for comfort, safety, and the roomy cabin that makes it easy to count on for family use. The expert review also describes it as a pleasant choice for highway driving, with smooth and quiet manners that support everyday dependability.

GM’s 2-year, 24,000-mile maintenance plan adds some ownership value by covering scheduled checkups, oil changes, and tire rotation. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that age-related wear can show up in the transmission, steering, or other high-mileage components, so a careful pre-purchase inspection matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 GMC Acadia?

At 61% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Then prioritize a thorough inspection of the body, suspension, steering, and interior controls, since condition can vary a lot on older family SUVs. It also helps to focus on how the vehicle drives at low speeds and on the highway, because that’s where wear and age-related issues are most likely to show up.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Acadia starts at $35,410 and climbs through 4 trim levels before reaching Denali. The base SLE-1 skips the standout front center airbag, while higher trims add more upscale touches; the Denali is the most luxurious version and looks the most distinctive.
• Powertrain: You get one engine, a 3.6-liter V6 with 288 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic. Front- or all-wheel drive is your only drivetrain choice, and the review notes that the transmission can feel sluggish.
• Safety package: The Acadia includes a front center airbag on every trim except the base SLE-1. Forward-collision alert and lane-departure warning are optional on SLT-1 and SLT-2 and standard on Denali, while blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert are standard only on SLT-2 and Denali.
• Infotainment: The system includes a reconfigurable home screen, Bluetooth streaming audio, Pandora access, six radio preset groups, HD radio, USB connectivity, live traffic, weather alerts, and voice recognition. The available rear-seat DVD setup is bundled with navigation and stereo equipment.
• Fuel efficiency: The Acadia is rated at 16 mpg in the city and about 23 mpg on the highway, and the review says both figures are par for the class.

Which 2014 GMC Acadia trim should I buy?

The 2014 GMC Acadia is offered in 4 trim levels: SLE-1, SLE-2, SLT-1, SLT-2.

Here's the short version:

• SLE-1: This is the entry point, but it misses the Acadia’s standout front center airbag, so it’s the trim where you feel the most feature compromise. It makes sense only if you want the lowest price and can live with a more basic setup.
• SLE-2: This is the better-value choice because it adds more everyday usability while keeping the Acadia’s core strengths intact. It also allows the no-cost reclining second-row bucket-seat setup, which can make the cabin more family-friendly.
• SLT-1: This trim is the first step into a more upscale experience, and it can add forward-collision alert and lane-departure warning as optional equipment. It suits you if you want more comfort and tech without going all the way to the top.
• SLT-2: This is the most complete non-Denali choice, with blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert standard. If you want the best mix of safety equipment and upscale features without paying Denali money, this is the trim to target.

The safety package is strongest on the higher trims, while the base trim leaves out one of the Acadia’s most distinctive safety features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 GMC Acadia?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 789 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.72% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $7,987, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 GMC Acadia's resale value?

The current average of $7,997 sits slightly below last year's $9,269.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that pricing discipline matters: a clean, well-kept Acadia should still attract interest, but you may need to price competitively to move it quickly.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.73/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 GMC Acadia safe?

The Acadia earns top ratings from the government and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The Acadia’s safety story is anchored by a front center airbag that helps cushion driver-passenger impact in a side collision. On top of that, OnStar with automatic 911 assistance and stolen-vehicle tracking is standard, as is a backup camera. Forward-collision alert and lane-departure warning are optional on SLT-1 and SLT-2 and standard on Denali, while blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert are limited to SLT-2 and Denali.

Should I buy a 2014 GMC Acadia or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.72% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.73/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert review highlights a plush, carlike three-row SUV with smooth, quiet highway manners and strong safety.

The bottom line: If you want a roomy, comfort-first three-row SUV and you’re shopping on value, the 2014 Acadia is worth a close look. If you’re especially price-sensitive, focus on the cleanest, best-documented example you can find rather than stretching for a higher-mileage bargain.
