How much does the 2014 BMW 5 Series cost?

Prices have softened 5.65% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 840 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2014 BMW 5 Series a good car?

Yes — the 4.55/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction overall. Drivers commonly praise the smooth and comfortable ride, the performance, and the interior features, while also noting the balance of luxury and performance that makes this model appealing.

For you, that means the 2014 5 Series fits well if you want a midsize luxury sedan with a driver-focused feel and a broad feature set. The market also shows 31.9% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2014 BMW 5 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.55/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Driver feedback points to a mix of dependable ownership experiences and some concerns about durability, with reliability and trouble-free ownership not always being consistent across all examples. Some owners appreciate the car’s long-term comfort and performance, while others mention issues that can affect confidence over time.

For used buyers, that means your ownership risk depends heavily on maintenance history and current condition, so a well-documented example is especially important.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 BMW 5 Series?

At 59.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether the car has any accident or title issues before you go further. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so a mechanic can check for wear, leaks, electrical concerns, and other condition-related problems. Focus on service records and overall maintenance quality, since those details matter a lot on a luxury sedan like this.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 BMW 5 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 840 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.65% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,675, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 BMW 5 Series's resale value?

The current average of $10,687 sits slightly below last year's $11,326.

That tells you the market has softened, which can work against you if you buy at the wrong price and try to resell soon after. If you plan to own the car for a while, the current pricing may help you enter at a more favorable point. If you’re thinking about future resale, condition and maintenance history will matter even more because buyers tend to pay up for cleaner, better-documented examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.55/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 BMW 5 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.65% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.55/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest value play, the 2014 makes sense when you find a well-maintained example with clean history and a price near the lower end of the range. If you’re especially price-sensitive, keep comparing nearby years and focus on the best-documented car rather than the cheapest one, since condition and maintenance history are likely to matter more than a small model-year difference.
