Why it stands out
The 2014 Acura TL stands out as a roomy, mature luxury sedan with a strong emphasis on comfort, equipment, and available performance. It was the bigger, more powerful sibling to the TSX, and Acura positioned it as a true competitor to established luxury sedans by giving it a choice of engines and a well-equipped cabin. Buyers could get a 2.4-liter four-cylinder paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic, or a 3.5-liter V6 paired with a nine-speed automatic, with the V6 also available with SH-AWD. The TL’s base trim was unusually generous for the class, with features such as four-wheel steering, LED headlights and brake lights, a sunroof, keyless entry and ignition, dual-zone automatic climate control, leatherette upholstery, heated front seats with power adjustability, and a seven-speaker audio system.
The 2014 TL also offered a thoughtful mix of technology and driver assistance. Its infotainment setup used two displays, including an eight-inch screen mounted on top of the dash and a seven-inch center display, while the optional Technology Package added real leather seating surfaces, voice command capability, navigation, and an ELS 10-speaker premium audio system. For V6 models, the available Advance Package brought 18-inch alloy wheels, parking sensors front and rear, LED foglights, ventilated front seats, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic braking for forward collision mitigation. At the same time, the TL was not without drawbacks: the nine-speed automatic drew complaints, and the car’s back seat and cargo space were both described as limited. Even so, the 2014 Acura TL remains appealing for shoppers who want a comfortable, well-equipped sedan with available all-wheel drive and a broad spread of features.

It’s a beautiful car and it drives like a dream. Best car I’ve owned yet. I will say that unless you’re getting the SH-AWD, just stick with the Accord. The tech is outdated and honestly a burden.

The car itself is comfortable and powerful. It is a 2014 so it isnt up to date with all the features of current year car but it still has a lot to offer. I did find the car a bit expensive but Im a fan of Acura cars so I didnt let the price tag get in the way of quality. The TL is Right in the Range of the BMW 5 series and Audi A6 and other luxury full size sedans.

How much does the 2014 Acura TL cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $12,368 |
| Year-Round Low | $10,874.13 |
| Year-Round High | $12,813.07 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $12,380 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −0.10% |
Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.
There are 110 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
If you find a listing below $10,874.13, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2014 Acura TL a good car?
Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction for this model year. The 2014 Acura TL stands out as a roomy, mature luxury sedan with a strong emphasis on comfort, equipment, and available performance. It was positioned as a larger, more powerful alternative with a well-equipped cabin and a broad spread of features, including available all-wheel drive and a choice of engines. For you, that makes it a sensible pick if you want a comfortable luxury sedan with a generous feature set and a more traditional upscale feel.
30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a meaningful pool of potentially attractive options.
Is the 2014 Acura TL reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2014 Acura TL’s appeal comes from its comfort-focused design, generous equipment, and available performance, which can make it a reassuring choice if those qualities matter most to you. At the same time, the nine-speed automatic drew complaints, so you should pay close attention to how the transmission behaves during a test drive. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is best managed by prioritizing a clean service history and a careful road test.
What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Acura TL?
At 50.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then focus your inspection on signs of prior bodywork, uneven panel gaps, and wear that doesn’t match the mileage. A pre-purchase inspection is especially worthwhile here because condition can vary meaningfully from one listing to the next. Pay extra attention to how the transmission shifts and whether the cabin electronics, seats, and driver-assistance features work as expected.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Acura TL?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.
- Deal availability: 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 110 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 50.9% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $10,874.13, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2014 Acura TL's resale value?
The current average of $12,368 sits slightly below last year's $12,380.
That small decline suggests the market has been fairly stable, which can help you plan a future sale without worrying about a sharp drop in value. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you should be able to stay close to the market’s typical pricing pattern. A clean history and well-documented maintenance will matter more than chasing short-term price swings.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2014 Acura TL or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2014 if:
- 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 50.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want a comfortable, well-equipped luxury sedan with stable pricing and strong owner satisfaction, the 2014 is the primary year to target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you should still shop this year carefully because the deal pool is decent and the market has been steady, but you’ll want to prioritize the cleanest, best-documented example you can find.
