My dilemma was AWD minivan or SUV? I wanted a snow car that could seat up to 7 (extended family). I had a 2WD Sequoia - at 19MPG and a 100 RT commute daily, the gas was killing me. This sporty looking car relieved me of the 'soccer mom' look and still gave me all the amenities a family car needs. We added the DVD entertainment system and NAV and you have a great road trip car! Comfortable (unlike the Subaru which was like sitting on wooden boxes) with great visibility (even a back up camera). After market running boards make it a little easier for my 3 year old to get in the car (and grandma, too!). If you're wondering about power - come drive one. It has 270 effective horsepower and plenty of torque - which equals plenty of get up and go for the mountains or navigating the tricky morning school commute. We also added the Toyota Care package - so maintenance is prepaid until 11/2016 or 125,000miles - and it's transferable. Mindless, happiness in a car.. we just need room for more people AND cargo - this car can either carry 8 people or 5 people and cargo. Can't do 7-8 people AND cargo... aiyah! Other cars I considered (remember I wanted AWD and seat 7) were Subaru Tribecca (uncomfortable even at the top of the line model), Mazda CX9 (bad visibility), Toyota Sienna AWD (there's the soccer mom... which I will be), Toyota Sequoia (wow, can you imagine $64k?? and 19 MPG? talk about money pit)
