Performance is very good, compared to other soft-roaders, as the manual gear changing option (in the automatic gear) helps a lot in controlling the pace of the vehicle, wouldn't have missed the option for paddle shifters. The build quality is still rock solid, with no creaks and sounds emanating from the cabin. The appearance is definitely against the present trend of having soft looking softroaders, with better presence, commanding view and that tall grille, reminding everyone of the Land Rover genes, together with the side vents and the roofline. The ownership hasn't been bothersome, the mileage is probably not the best in town, but with careful driving and having cruise control for most of the time, helps deliver better avg. mileage. The manual shift control really does help. With the sixth gear engaged in less than 60kmph, its very helpful (quite unlike my Passat CC, in which the sixth gear is engaged at 70kmph or higher). Fun, definitely a lot of fun. The ride is very comfortable and the seats - truly awesome. The drive itself isn't like a sports car (definitely the VW CC is better in this dept.), but its not like most other off roaders. There is no other softroader, that can match the ride and on& offroad capabilities of LR2, period.

There isn't anything I DON'T love about this car. It has everything and it was important to me to have 4WD. It not only has 4WD it has 4 different settings. There is one for snow, for sand, for uneven and rocky terrain, and one for just 2WD which is great with the gas mileage. The styling is wonderful. A LOT of room in both front and back seats with plenty of room for cargo. A pull screen to cover the cargo to deter thieves. ALl the buttons on the dashboard are very easy and accessible. The seats are warming seats and VERY comfortable. Power drivers seat tilts up or down, back and forth. Button to save your specific driving position. 2 sunroofs, yes 2! So now the rear passengers can enjoy the sunlight as well. Seperate DVD screens inserted into the back of the headrests allows people to view 2 different movies at the same time. Plenty of cup holders throughout. We purchased a rubber cargo mat and cover for the back seat since we have a dog, and they fit like a glove. Cargo rack has horizontal ribs to hold your cargo container up and off the 2 sunroofs. The headlights have their own windshield washer sprayers. Another item I needed was the back up sensors, it comes standard. Airbags in front and side curtain, and even airbags at knee level for driver and passenger. Sturdy rubber traction coated step up running boards, body side molding for the parking lot dings, tow package, seats 5, 6 CD player, Alpine stereo(9 speakers throughout) lots on the dash, including miles to empty, trip setter, time, temp( interior/exterior) mud flaps, deflectors on all the windows, and the sunroof has an automatic deflector that rolls out when you open the roof, and it is a mesh so the wind enters quietly yet comfortably on the highway, and the BEST part of it all? FIVE years FREE maintenence!! And they will pick up your car and return it for service!! AND! If need be, they will give you a loaner if your car needs to be overnight. Prompt courteous service, VERY pleasent sales people, clean showroom AND service bays. Gas mileage is the same as a Ford Escape 4WD and yet this ENTIRE package costs me LESS than an Escape and the quality and roominess doesn't compare! It is a solid , quiet , smooth, riding vehicle. I have the V6 and the acceleration is very zippy, and the braking is far superior than I had on my 05 Honda Accord. And unlike the Accord, there are no blind spots at all. Power everything including outside mirrors, and rear wiper. The windshield has heat sensors in throughout and also the antennae for a clear view in any weather. The radio is super sensitive , picking up many stations I have never had before. This vehicle has a Volvo engine. There is nothing I can say more. Thouroughly satisfied with the purchasing experience, the service dept, and the car itself. This vehicle was bought off the showroom floor and they STILL took it out back to detail it more before they gave it to me with a full tank of gas! The handling is solid and smooth on both back roads and highway. I shopped all the dealers before I went here and I wish I had done the reverse. It would of saved me time AND aggravation! But we did do our homework, so we knew a deal when we negotiated for one. My car was a "loaner" yet no oone ever drove it. It had only 11 miles on it, but it knocked thousands of dollars right off the top, and then we started negotiations. Like I said, it was cheaper than the Ford Escape at invoice price!
