As a carryover from 2008, Scion expects to make no major changes to its 2009 xD. One trim will be offered: a four-door, five-passenger wagon. Under the hood it will have a 1.8-liter, 124-hp, four-cylinder engine that gets an EPA estimated 27/33 mpg. A five-speed manual transmission is standard, with the option of a four-speed automatic. The 60/40 split-folding rear seats fold down for additional cargo space.

The xD features an anti-skid system, traction control, and front side and curtain side airbags for safety.
