The 2009 V6 Ford Mustang Base Model has a 4.0L engine that puts out 210hp. The Mustang has a lot of 'giddy-up' for a V6 and has no problems keeping up with other cars of the same class. Top governed speed was indicated at about 118mph @ 3500rpm in 5th Gear, however my portable GPS clocked at about 113.5mph. Un-governed, I could easily see the V6 Mustang clock up to 130 +/-5 mph (indicated) before hitting redline. Styling for the '09 V6 is unchanged from the '05-'08 except for the 45th Anniversary badging on the forward fender panels. A premium package is available which includes rocker panel racing stripes, rear-spoiler, 17 or 18 inch pony wheels and upgraded 6 disc CD changer stereo system. The largest difference is between automatic and standard transmissions. The auto seems to shift at in-opportune moments and doesn't take advantage of the 4.0L's power. So in retrospect, I'm glad that I bought the Manual 5 Speed transmission instead of the automatic. OVERALL - $21k OTD makes my '09 Ford Mustang V6 S197 the best bang for the buck that I have spent in a long, long time!
