Overview

The 2008 Chevrolet Aveo continues to be a solid, well-priced offering in the subcompact car category. It's roomier than many of its competitors, with plenty of headroom and decent legroom. Sure, its boxy style isn't likely to win any design awards, but it offers reliable transportation at an affordable price.
On the other hand, the 2008 Aveo is a bit underpowered, even by econobox standards. Its 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine delivers 103 horsepower and 107 lb.-ft. of torque, but hills can feel like a challenge (especially with the optional automatic transmission).
The 2008 Chevy Aveo is available as a five-door hatchback (in the Aveo5 LS and Aveo5 Special Value trims) and as a sedan (in the LS and LT trims). The Special Value trim is pretty bare-bones; you won't find many American cars with fewer standard features than this. The LS and LT trims offer a bit more comfort, but even the LT is far from luxurious.
When it comes to fuel efficiency, the '08 Aveo pretty much holds its own. Its EPA estimates of 23 mpg city, 33 mpg highway (with manual transmission; automatic transmission mileage is estimated at 23/31) aren't bad, but they don't quite measure up to subcompact competitors like the Toyota Yaris and Honda Fit.

Suprisingly much more car for the money than one would expect. Car likes to cruise at 70-75mph and will do 105 easily as I have had it there on a few occasions. Speedo says 120 but the car is so light I am not willing to attempt it. Car goes virtually anywhere and has an amazing amount of cargo space with the back seats all the way folded. The only complaint I have is the road noise. But what do you expect for a car you can buy for $8-$11k?

Good car overall, bad fuel consumption rate, stable on the highway (I got 170 km/h). on the negative side that the side pumbers are curved in a way that they can be easily dented or scratched. positive side i sthe great shape, comfort inside (good leg space), good AC.

i have this chevy in platinum metallic and it looks pretty stylish.I wanted a car which would look good, should have plush looking and roomy interiors,a comfortable car with a good fuel economy and i think i got the perfect car.The other cars around are not as stylish as the chevy. The honda city is way to overpriced and it is the most unpretty car.The verna is also not as stylish and comfortable and even the sx4 looks very bulky. The fiesta is a good car but it offers you less for your money and the interiors could have been better. The aveo is immensely spacious and the boot-mind you ,you are out for a week this car has enough space for your luggage.I really loved the stereo on this car it comes from the new set of GM stereos and sounds extremely good and i don't think i could have found any other car even in the upper segment having such a superb 6 speaker sound system. The driving position of the car is very good and the theater styled rear seats are really comfortable. You enter the car and you automatically feel cozy and comfortable. The car has some minor negative points. The engine is a bit sluggish and noisy and the ride can be harsh at times.Otherwise the car is perfect. It has the brand image-chevrolet-the most desired car brand in the world and the car is stylish enough to make a supermodel turn green. It is slightly under-rated in the auto industry. But it is truly the car which is above the c segment and it is unfair to compare it with the much hyped honda and the sx4.So anybody wants advice i say go there and grab the chevy -it is a great car gives you more than enough for your money. No wonder it is ranked no. 1 in the J.D Power Study because it deserves it!
