Used 2005 Chevrolet Aveo for Sale near Tucson, AZ
The 2005 Chevrolet Aveo was one of the smallest and most affordable compact cars in the U.S. market at the time. As a successor to the longlived Chevy Cavalier, the '05 Aveo targeted first-time buyers and drivers looking for a good deal.
Available in two body styles, hatchback and sedan, the 2005 Aveo was offered in three trims: Special Value (the base, no-frills version), LS, and LT. Unsurprisingly, few features come standard, especially on the Special Value trim.
This tiny subcompact is powered by a 1.6-liter inline-4 engine with an output of 103 horsepower and 107 lb.-ft. of torque. Still, that's enough power to take a minicar like the Aveo around the roads with ease.
And the car's fuel economy speaks for itself (and may be the best argument for buying a 2005 Chevy Aveo). EPA rated at 27 mpg city/35 mpg highway, the '05 Aveo is one of the most fuel efficient cars in its class.

(30 reviews)If you wanted to know what is wrong with GM, this car can explain it all. Thankfully this was a lease! From the first day we got this car it was problem after problem (only later we found out the model was a total lemon). The day we got it out of the dealership we already had brake problems. The car cannot break properly period. You need to have your foot on the completely on the ground to have some breaking power. The inverse is also true as it has absolutely no decent acceleration and absolutely no torque. I've never seen a car get stuck so easily in the snow even with good winter tires on. Everything in this car was a disaster. From the brakes, to the wiper mechanism, to the bearings, to even start the damn car (how the hell does a 4 year old car no longer start during winter - oh yeah...that happened). Air conditioning was barely functionning even though it was at its make. What made our day is the day a crack started forming in the windshield which was clearly a manufacturers defect but GM thought otherwise (are you surprised?). The only good thing about this car was the interior. It was comfy and it looked good....that's it. As usual, GM can do esthetics very well...but mechanically are crap. For a small car, it used more gas than my Caliber!!! After returning the car, it took over 3 months to get everything settled as both dealership and GMAC couldn't do their jobs right to get the right documentation to get through. We needed to get an independant rep that would report to GMAC about the condition of the car. So as you can see, Customer Service sucked ass! So in the end, after being in the garage on average every 3 months (not counting regular maintenance), 7 different recalls, arugueing with the salesman and customer service, you can bet your arse that we are never dealing with GM again when it comes to buying (or leasing if they ever do it again) a vehicle.
this car has provided me and my wife with very little else but problems, between recalls that were made twice for same thing, and problems not fixed. to the many other problems experienced which the mechanics dont listen to problem or properly test and so they as well as gm say nothign wrong with the car. which if this is the case this car is one of the worst Ive had to drive. I would rather drive any other vehicle over the 05 aveo
Fuel economy is very good (I averaged 30/35 city/hwy with the MT in summer temps), visibility is very good, parking is a breeze, the interior is deceptively roomy, and the overall ride comfort isn't bad. My wife and I use the Aveo primarily as a daily driver to and from work, as well as as our primary trip vehicle for weekend drives, day trips, and vacations. We took ours from MI to NC for our annual vacation last year, and aside from the lack of cruise control, the trip was highly enjoyable. The Aveo handles high speeds and interstate driving very well, and I have registered 35-36 mpg with the MT even when averaging 70-80 mph. The cargo capacity is excellent if the rear seat is not occupied, and the overall comfort of the seats and interior is adequate. We have owned ours for two years and have experienced no mechanical issues to date. However, if you're looking for performance, avoid this car. Acceleration is just adequate with a driver and one passenger, while the car noticeably struggles when hauling 4 or 5 adults. Handling is sub-par, particularly around curves. There are many annoying squeaks and rattles stemming from backseat interior door components, and the lack of standard power accessories makes the car feel spartan. In summary - The Aveo LS Hatchback provides economical, practical transportation as a daily driver or primary vehicle for individuals or couples. I would not recommend this for anyone who enjoys spirited driving, requires standard power accessories, or needs to often transport more than two adults.
Great car. The build quality is pretty soild and has held up rather strong over the past 4 years. I haven't spent much on the vehicle other than the regular maintainence (ie changes, air filters, brakes) The handling is alright but could use improvement, but it isntmeant to be a race car so i suppose its sufficient.
My Blue Bubble is awesome. best vehicle I've ever owned. I don't try to neglect her, it just happens. I live on a dusty, rutted up reservation. Driven lots of miles on a little gas at usually high rates of speed. No repairs. Yes, I did say No repairs. They're great rides!
