3.9 Overall rating
(6 reviews)The Mitsubishi Triton, called the Strada in the Philippines, has decent performance for the price. The GLS Sport has a 3.2L CRDI (Common Rail Direct Injection) engine that is essentially the same engine as the new Pajero. The engine is rather powerful for the light frame of the pickup and offers excellent acceleration. Braking and handling is impressive and almost car-like. As with most Mitsubishi SUVs and pickups, the shift-on-the-fly 4x4 still continues to amaze me. Shifting from 2WD to 4WD is easy and quick. For fuel economy, I am able to run somewhere between 10 - 13kms/L. On the other hand, build quality was somewhat disappointing. The pickup is under a year-old and has made several trips to the shop due to some squeaks in the clutch and noise in the rear suspension. In spite of these problems, the dealership was able to address all my concerns and correct them all promptly. The pickup has a very aggressive exterior styling and somehow mimics the helmet of a Stormtrooper from a George Lucas movie (check out a white colored Strada and you'll get my point). Overall, the Mitsubishi Strada continues the L200 tradition and is a very fun vehicle to drive both in the city and off-road.
Yes it goes well looks good (for a truck) and so far has been almost totally reliable. Engine could do with more power (new model has, I believe), but hey, nothing's perfect I suppose. There you go, what more do you want? Nuff said...
Good car to drive.... Engine Build quality need to be improve. Bought last year, Triton 2.5 High spec with auto trans - the car runs well until 2 months ago, I have an intermittent check engine light on. Sent to Mit Service ctre, but only to have a sensor sprayed for quickfix..... now I have the check engine light on all the time and with the car power diminishing ..worst when you do hill climb. With that problem NOW I retired my TRITON and go back to my BMW 750il....what a waste.
blue big and raised very economical and has a reserve of power you require in a five seater with truck facilities. My dog also likes it because she can poke her hed out of the window while I am driving DRIVEN IT AT 185 KM ON PHETAKESEM RD and handled like a dream
i like the vehicle cause it has 5 seats but that cuts down on tray area i dont like the colour black to hard to keep clean the canopy lock can be a bit tricky to lock but not to bad the central locking is good makes it hard to lock the keys in the car. overall a good allround vehicle that drives well both on and off road . Average fuel consumption for the 3.2 lt diesel was around 12 lt/100 ks
