About 2006 Chevrolet Corvette
Overview

The 2006 Corvette is a picture of power, speed, and beauty. The Z06 can achieve over 500 horsepower with its LS7 7.0L Gen IV V8 engine, while the standard model does not disappoint with its LS2 6.0L V8. However, the Corvette takes care of its driver and passenger by doing more than just offering a thrilling ride; the console wraps itself around the driver, providing easy reach to its state-of-the-art technology.
While the Corvette probably will not win any awards for gas economy, the LS7 delivers surprising speed and acceleration for a reasonable gas cost: the automatic gets 18 city/25 highway, while the manual offers 19/28.
The C6 was a long-awaited release after Corvette racing won many matchups with its storied Z06. Finally, the elegant muscle car is delivered.

My Corvette has a Procharger Supercharger, Kook's 1 7/8" headers, Borla X-pipe, Borla Stinger Exhaust, B&M Short Throw Shifter. In a few weeks, I'll be addind a dual-nozzle methanol injection system and be doing a dyno tune on her. Right now she's pushing around 670 hp at the crank.

Flashy and fast is the Game that the 2006 Corvette plays. This car like those that came before follows the fast car at a reasonable price. With a 6.0 400 hp V8 that replaces the 5.7 350 hp V8, the Corvette stays relevant in the performance car market. Measuring 0-60 is no longer relevant, it is better to measure 0-100 instead. Although I never got the liberty to take this car on a twisty mountain road, it still is satisfying to drive as long as your not in traffic or have the misfortune of following a cop. The Car I drove was fitted with the 6 speed Automatic with paddle shifters. While the Slush box is able to keep the acceleration close to that of the 6 speed manual, the paddle shifters are not as quick at shifting as a standard manual transmission. This corvette was fitted with Borla exhaust and it is guaranteed to turn heads when you stomp on the throttle. Like all corvettes, the bargain price creates some compromises. Although the interior is improved from the C5, it still is not fit for a car that cost about $55,000. The seats are still terrible, and when pinned in the seat due to acceleration, you can feel the framework behind the cheep padding. The steering also feels to synthetic and makes you feel sort of isolated from the road, but no worries Corvette lovers, because I believe they have addressed this in the 08’ model. While the Composite body saves weight, the rear bumper feels, well… flimsy. And when you take the car to the dealer because the targa top is rattling, pray that they don’t back the car into a Suburban. There is certain Corvette educate that one must follow when driving, always wave to other drivers of Corvettes. Secondly, never drive the Corvette like you are driving a Cadillac, You are supposed to drive this car as if your 21. The owner of the corvette I drove is 87, and he still drives it like he is 21, fortunately it has not been impounded…Yet.

The car is an all around performer. However, I do have one complaint. The seats are entirely to soft and lack proper bolstering. Also, they could be more rigid. Other than that, the car is an engineering marvel!! Sleek, sexy, and blindingly fast!! There are not enough good things to say about this car!
