Mercedes-Benz makes one of the most safest and reliable cars in the market. The G 55 Wagon has the looks, the horsepower and is no where near as common as seeing a c-class on the highway. This is a great car, not the most comfortable or efficient on gas (but who cares)

The car was a great value and pretty reliable. I’ve owned since new from 2005 to 2020. Regretfully, I sold it in 2020 and still miss it, even though I’ve since owned a 2018 G63 and 2021 G550, both great, but no charm of the 2005 G500 Grand Edition. For 15 years I’ve owned it and over 80000 miles driven, other than regular maintenance, I only had to replace the heater blower motor which was a DIY repair and a leaking gasket on the transmission pan which was replaced at the time of transmission service for the cost of the gasket only.
