For 2005, the biggest change in the Dodge Stratus comes from the new Coupe versions of the SXT and R/T trims. In addition, Dodge offers a new sport appearance package that makes the SXT look a little more like the sportier R/T. The Stratus offers a choice between inline-4 and V6 powertrains.

Gas mileage averages out to 22 mpg in the city and 30 on the highway, with the SXT Coupe giving you the best performance. Coupes have two doors and seat 5, while sedans have four doors and seat 5. The R/T offers a lot more standard features than the lower-grade SXT.

Overall, critics like the Stratus' low price and big trunk. Otherwise, the midsize sedan looks like it's getting a little long in the tooth. The powertrains simply don't measure up, and other features have remained stagnant. Look for the Stratus to have one last go-round in 2006 and then ride off into the sunset.
