Third row seating (in SLT and above) is easily accessible, with extra headroom provided by a slightly raised roof. Drivers think the 2004 and above Durangos are greatly improved over previous years, particularly in terms of ride comfort and suspension. The sleeker styling, bigger third row seating to fit adults, and higher safety rating were all plusses. But the biggest draw is the power. Although the noise and muscle of the Hemi is enticing, the 4.7 V8 can haul up to 7000 pounds, more than sufficient for the average SUV owner.
