Used 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX Wagon for Sale near New Orleans, LA
4.6 Overall rating
(15 reviews)The 2004 Impreza WRX is not a particularly slow car with its 225 standard horses. The Prodrive Performance Package (PPP) version makes it a much more desirable car. I am completely hooked. Prodrive modified the engine management and exhaust, boosting the output to 270hp. It's not an STI of course, but in the wagon it is a must. I tested several second hand cars with very low kms on the clock but they all shared the same problem: they were badly treated by their first owner. In the end, I found a good example. I agreed to buy it on Wednesday before a long week-end. On Monday, the seller contacted me to tell me he changed his mind and wouldn't sell the car after all. All I could do is tell him he was absolutely 100% right. This is a brilliant car.
I just bought this car a little while ago on cars.com and drove it 1600 miles back from Boston via Canada. Since then I've driven it around town in a variety of road conditions. As a drummer, sedans and sports cars are generally impractical for me so I had resigned myself to many years of no driving pleasure whatsoever... The WRX wagon is fantastic. 227 turbo-charged horsepower in an all-wheel drive hatchback yields impressive acceleration, and handling. The four-wheel disc brakes complete this empowering package of exquisite balance. This car has no competition whatsoever in its class and year range. Top it off with saving $3,000 off the Minneapolis prices by buying in Boston and you've got one hell of a satisfied buyer.
Love the performance - Handling, power Quality - Second to none Appearance - Subaru's are love it or hate it Cost - Lil high Fun - Non stop. This is why I have owned 8 Subaru's so far and I hope to keep adding to that.
This is by far the most connected I've ever felt to a car. While driving you hear and feel everything and have so much control over the car, it feels like the car is connected to you in some way. If I had to sum up my feelings about this car, the one word, would be love.
When I first bought it, the handling was a little underwhelming, especially compared to the power it makes. After a few good mods, like front and rear sway bars and end links, it handles quite well. It may not be as buttoned down as an Audi, but it is still a blast to drive. We also installed an aftermarket up pipe, and a manual boost controller. both working together to get rid of a little of the dreaded turbo lag.
