This is a great all around reliable low maintenance vehicle. Poor gas mileage around the city is the only negative. We use the vehicle for driving to work as well as periodic 200 mile trips to New Orleans, and several trips to Florida every year. We purchased the vehicle used a couple years ago and have changed the alternator, oil and filter since then. Tahoe's are expensive but do hold up to the reputation...

Fun to drive, spacious, feels very safe. Great for towing or moving large items, great for pets. Expensive but worth the comfort. Slow but a chip and exhaust could help that. Very fun to drive and spend time in. Would take everywhere if it weren't for the gas mileage.

Sucks down gas like no other, but otherwise an excellent truck. After almost 90,000 miles has worn less than expected. Acceleration and handling are nothing to brag about, but the thing weighs almost 3 tons. No major mechanical issues--much more sound than most other 5-year-old GM products. Arguably one of the most important issues is the sound system, and the Bose speakers still sound new, which is to say wonderful.
