Used 2002 Porsche Boxster S for Sale near Lacey Spring, VA

This car is really fun to drive. It's the best handling vehicle I've owned. The styling is timeless. The acceleration is great. Most of all, I love the fact that it's a convertible. I would recommend the Boxster to anyone looking for a really fun car to drive.

J Clarkson has this one wrong. Being the faster version of the market entry model for the Porsche brand, and now having to live with uprated newer peers, might to some be a bit like being fifth in line to the throne and dropping with every new birth. But that is missing the point - this car has top quality breeding and it shows. A 911 cab just does not look right - it was designed to be a hard top. This car was designed to have its roof down at any available opportunity. And if you've driven a 911 round country bends you know where the engine is. A mid-engined Boxster had wonderful balance and handling. Whilst I might be tempted to trade up to clear lights - I still prefer the older styling Boxster. For me, the newer versions are given an aggression not needed for a car with such finesse.

I love the look and styling. It is so much fun to drive with the manual transmission. The top is easy to put up and down and never stays up! Not even in the winter months. It's been a great Sunday driver and keeps its shape well.

Mid Engine, stick shift, rear wheel drive. What else could you ask for

I went 13,000 miles in my 2002 Porsche Boxster S before the IMS bearing gave way and tore the engine apart! Poor design! How can Porsche advertize "Perfection"? This car is junk and the manufacturer should be ashamed and bear financial and mechanical responsibility for their failures to their customers! I had wanted a Porsche all my life and had saved to make that dream a reality. Except it was a more of a nightmare! The car costs more for everything - since it is mid-engine car (great handling tho) you will be handing the repair techs your wallet! A new engine costs almost as much as the car. No wonder this car has gone down in value....STAY AWAY! This car cost me over $20k used and I lost 100% of that (except a few hundred $$$ for scrap). DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU!!! RUN, DON'T WALK as far away from Porsche products as you can get. I was the Co-Chairman of the North Texas Boxster Enthusiasts - and MY CAR DIED! You have 2 options: 1). Stick your head in the sand and pretend it was "something I did to cause this"; or 2). Heed my warning, buy another car and live happily ever after. Here's what I did....I bought a 2008 Corvette - it is faster, better handling, parts are cheaper...and reliable! I have done nothing but oil changes!
