The 2023 Aston Martin DBS is the epitome of lavish, high-performance motoring. It features a long, flowing hood, plush cockpit, and high-strung V12 engine. The DBS arrived for the 2019 model year, and in 2022, the high-end grand-touring car lost the “Superleggera” label from its model name. For 2023, Aston Martin has teased a new, limited-run DBS 770 Ultimate, with more information set to be released in early 2023. The DBS is offered as a coupe or as a convertible, which is called the “Volante.” Both cars provide seating for four in a 2+2 layout, and both cars include Aston Martin’s “Swan” doors, which tilt slightly upward as they are opened. The Volante’s convertible top opens in 14 seconds and closes in 16 seconds. It can be opened via a key fob while standing next to the vehicle. The Aston Martin DBS features an opulent cockpit outfitted with a long list of standard features, including comfortable-yet-supportive sport bucket seats with an embroidered DBS logo, dark chrome interior accents with piano black inserts, automatic climate control, remote keyless entry, and heated front seats. It also comes standard with a premium stereo system and an 8-inch LCD screen that’s operated via a central touchpad. Buyers can select expanded premium leather upholstery, Alcantara interior trim segments, a carbon fiber steering wheel, ventilated front seats, and a Bang & Olufsen premium stereo system. These options are offered in addition to the countless points of customization that are available for Aston Martin’s discerning customers. The Aston Martin DBS is powered by a twin-turbocharged 5.2-liter V12 engine. It makes 712 horsepower and 663 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. The DBS Coupe can sprint from zero to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. The Volante is just a smidge slower to 60 mph, doing the deed in 3.6 seconds. Both cars boast a top speed of 211 mph. In order to maintain stability at these high speeds, the DBS features a motorsport-inspired double-diffuser as part of a suite of performance-minded aerodynamic and chassis features. The DBS also features an adaptive suspension, ventilated carbon ceramic brakes, dynamic torque vectoring, and Pirelli P-Zero high-performance tires. The suspension, steering feel, throttle response, and shift mapping are all controlled via a drive mode selector with GT, Sport, and Sport Plus drive modes. The Aston Martin DBS returns fuel economy of 14 mpg city, 22 highway, and 17 combined. The DBS requires premium fuel. The DBS does not come with the same number of driver-assistance features that consumers may find in a typical crossover or family sedan. It does, however, have a 360-degree monitor and front and rear parking sensors. The 2023 Aston Martin DBS comes with a powertrain warranty that covers unlimited miles over three years.
