(11 reviews)ive had this car for just under a year but so far it has been amazing. the only complaint that i have is gas mileage. but due to the power that the car has its hard not to drive fast.
Performance - For being such a large car, it is pretty sporty. It's a good winter vehicle because it's great on gas (32+ mpg) and the front-wheel-drive is pretty good in the snow. Build Quality - The Intrepid and the rest of the LH-lineup were built very well. No squeaks or rattles like those foreign cars! Appearance - C'mon! It's an Intrepid! The aggressive front end styling and sweeping lines... you'd never guess it was a ten year old car! Cost of Ownership - Uhh... the timing belt job at 100,000 miles was a bit pricy at $800. Other than that, I've replaced two transmission sensors for $50. Total of $850 over two years is pretty good! Fun Factor - There's nothing more fun than driving with the windows down and sunroof open, automatic climate control set at 72, Infinity sound blasting, and right hand on the shifter in AutoStick... I love it!!!
My Intrpid is an excellent running car for me. I've had very few major problems with it and it gives me good gas mileage as long as I get an oil change every 3 to 4 months.
The car was more of a hassle than it was worth. Owned it early on in it's short life, 11000-130000miles. Several warranty repairs on the AC before 36k miles. Then a recall later on. I don't believe they ever fixed it, just put on a bandaid. Spent thousands of dollars trying to fix it. Never a permanent fix found for the AC. Engine died after 130k miles. We put a factory rebuilt engine in it, only for it to die within a month of its 3yr/36k warranty. Change the oil like clockwork to maintain the warrenty. What a waste of time and MONEY!! Never will I buy a Chrysler/Dodge product again!!
i like the way it handles and good speed for passing..and its roomy great style and ...but headlights faded...window and door molding shrunk....good trunk space....great highway traveling....steering wheel turned white...over all a nice family car
