The 1999 Ford F-150 continued to focus on the home, ranch, and farm user, as Ford segmented the market with its introduction of the "Super Duty" F-250 and F-350 trucks targeted at the commercial buyer. The 99 Ford F150 positioned itself as the pickup of choice for families and everyday drivers; a range of trims including the XL, XLT, and Lariat, and plush interior styling helped maintain the model's popularity. In addition to a choice of trim, the 1999 Ford F150 offered a range of configurations, including short-bed and long-bed models and a variety of cab setups, from 4-door extended-cab supercab to 2-door and 4-door standard cabs. The 99 Ford F-150 stayed with the curvy, aerodynamic styling that had been such a hit since the 1997 model rollout. Engine choices were the 4.2 liter Essex V6 and the 5.4 liter Triton V-8, updated for the model year to throw off 260 horsepower. The 1999 model year also marked the reintroduction of a Lightning SVT sport model, which came with a supercharged, 360-horsepower Triton V8.

This truck has been in my family since it was brand new. My dad put around 120,000 miles on it before I got it, but they are all highway miles so the truck still runs like a champ. She's never left me stranded and I've never had a single issue with her, probably the most reliable vehicle my dad or I have ever owned.

No cons, excellent Truck, brought it with 145K, replace Alternator only, now have 215K, has the V6 4.2L pulls my 16' with two 4 wheelers and camping stuff. with goodyear RT's on and off road. Engine Restorer does work, I know for a fact, been using it since 145K, now 215K still running like a champ..

Overall build quality is pretty good, but it did have some electrical gremlins, sliding rear window that leaks when it rains, piston slap at cold start and one of the sparkplugs blew out on me. All in all though, it was a good truck.

The performance is great does have the typical shudder braking is good The truck is still solid and runs and drives as well as it did 10 years ago. It presently has 143k on it with only minor issues other than the trans I love to drive this truck

Great truck. very reliable. poor fuel economy in town. Good power. decent handling and great braking. Good style. very low maintenance cost. Would buy another F-150. Would recommend to anyone seeking a lower cost truck. Compare to very over priced Toyota and Honda, GMC,Chevy trucks.This is the truck you need to buy.
