Used 1998 Ford Explorer 2 Dr Sport 4WD SUV for Sale near Los Angeles, CA

Love the ride and looks of it, have had it a couple of years. After $2000 worth of front end work, $2700 rebuilt transmission, several hundred dollars trying to have electrical malfunctions tracked down & fixed, if one more major component gives out, it's going to be pushed off a cliff. This is my first Ford...and will be my last! Just too unreliable and expensive for me.

I like it because it was cheap. I was expecting to have to do work on it because it had like 125000 miles. But it runs really good. Still with like 130000 miles its still going. My only regret was buying a 2 dr. It handles good for an suv and has alot of power. I havent got to test it offroad yet but if its anything like i hope, it will do pretty good. Overall good car.

Performance = Accelerates good, brakes good, and handles descent Build Quality = damn check engine light came on Appearance = it looks ok its no 95 f-150 Cost of Ownership = gas isn't to bad i payed 2 grand for it Fun factor = 4wd on 31's Druverside door won't open

i put an engine in it because it was the 4.0 sohc that likes to come apart with the 5 timming chains i bought it from a customer at work. not bad except for the fuel economony. This is my favorite car that ive owned because it was my frist project car and its my first 4wd which i use weekly now

4 wheel drive was worthless, has to fix everyting except the engine
