performance is great although acceleration from stop is a little slow. braking is excellent and it handles better than i expected i love the way these cars look unfortunately mine is a little ugly at the moment gets great fuel mileage i can usually drive around for about a week with the gas light on.

I bought this car a year ago on eBay, and I have to say, it's been a great car. There have been a few issues, but nothing out of the ordinary. And I'm also a fan of the boxy style.

My 1997 Volvo 850 is a awsome car. It has a V5 Motor and 4 speed automatic Transmission. It gets excellent gas milage and has alot of style to it. For the money, Volvo is one of the best makes you can get and the 850 has been an excellent model to have owned.

Have a manual 850 base. Good sound, needs mods, but overall jumps the line well and takes esses alright. Has more speed out of the higher revs. 5cyl gives between 22 city and 27 highway. This with bad tires and a slipping clutch. Overall, a fun, yet safe car. I don't have the turbo, but do have a manual which is apparently rare to find. All cars should be manual.
