Bought car used and abused (unfortunately) put new spark plugs and K&N air filter in it. runs much much better. suprisingly quick for it's weight and power. built like a tank (Volvo of course) exteriors fair, some body work is gonna need to be done. especially some nice wheels good gas mileage (went to Callahan and back on about 3-4 gallons) i like driving it, seeing as it's a 5-speed manual bought it for approx 1600 w/ 112,000 mls

Never thought of owning a Volvo until I came across this 850. It's a good looking car, ultra reliable, really good handling and performance, and is so comfortable. You can really enjoy driving in this car. It just has a completely solid feel.

The highlight of this car is the seats. I've never felt better. Great stereo and it was the first car in the U.S. with side airbags. All that doesn't make up for wooden handling and its love of the shop. Over $4.5 in niggling repairs over 2.5 years. Residuals were (and are with the current S60) shameful.
