I've owned two Escorts now, my first was a 2.0 LX TD, which I wrote off when the Cam belt snapped. I now own a 1.6 Ghia. The build quality is better than the LX TD and is on the whole more comfortable to drive. It's currently going through a redevelopment, I'm patching up all the bodywork issues and making sure it is mechanically sound. I'll add more photos when it is all sorted.

Good multi-purpose small stationwagon. 140 ks per hour on autobahn no problem , without a big thirst. Sleeps 3 in back when must. Tows a one ton trailer good. Good european design and engineering. Eat your heart out primitive overweight gas guzzlers.... for short >> yanks.

This is a great car for getting around on. The maintenance is very reasonable also. I get great mileage and drive for a weeks on one tank of gas. Ive driven this car on long trips and its very comfortable to drive.

First car, cheap to run and was great fun to drive and pretty easy to work on, apart from all the rust lol Performance mods are 10 a penny so making one yours is just a question of taste. Mine is now in scrapyard heaven :(
