Used 1993 Volkswagen Golf for Sale Nationwide

Overview

1993 was a changeover year for the Volkswagen Golf, with the older '92 models on their way out and the next-generation models slowly being introduced across the country, starting in California. However, the introduction of the new '93 models was delayed due to labor problems at the carmaker's plant in Mexico, so sales were limited.
The 1993 Volkswagen Golf came with a new 2.0-liter, 115-hp 4-cylinder engine and a five-speed manual transmission, which was standard. A four-speed automatic was available as an option.
Standard features for the Golf were beefed up a bit, when compared to previous models, and included power brakes, power steering, power door locks, bucket seats, a rear-window defroster, and an anti-theft alarm system.
Overall, drivers' impressions of the '93 Golf were positive, with fuel efficiency, roominess, and reliability cited as positive points. However, some drivers reported quality-control issues with the car.

It doesn't get the gas mileage that I thought it would...it revs almost like there should be another gear. It handles really well. I really like the looks of my car and it's nice inside...trimmed out nice. When I clean it out it really looks sharp. It is a solid sounding car that really surprised me when I took it get inspected because the things that were wrong with it in other cars I have owned you were hearing squeaks and thumps and bangs and blah, blah, blah...this car...no noise.

Great car overall future classic, brilliant handling can be a little nose heavy beacause of the weight from the 2.8, loads of power from mid range and topend but can be caught unaware from slow starts. Really well made apart from a few electrical gremlins which afect all mk3 golfs ie electric windows. Only downside of owning this car is its lust for petrol.

It drives well, has room for a full size pram in the back and it is rather reliable.
