1.8L DOHC manual four built by Mazda. The car was small, light, well sprung and almost perfectly geared for lots of driving fun. Moon roof, A/C, fog lights, cruse control, alloy wheels, manual everything. When stuff broke it was cheep and I could usually do it myself. I decided not to replace the clutch for the third time and sometimes I regret that.

This was about my 6th car I had it for 2 years. It was reliable, getting me to work and back but it had no poke.

Reviewed a 1992 Ford 4 Dr LX Hatchback on Jan 9, 2008

This car was the first nearly new car I bought with my own money all by myself, and I was a proud owner of a 4 door diesel engined car that although quite heavy was an absolute dream to drive, was great on fuel and I could get 4 passengers and their paraphernalia in quite comfortably. A very reliable car.

i owned 1992 ford escort 3 doors version, with 1.3 liter engine which develops 60 horse powers. it was in solid condition for sixteen years old car and about 270 000 kilometers. i had no troubles with ford i think that was one of better cars of that time.
