Overview

For such a popular car with a loyal fan base, the Pontiac 6000 would live only one more year. In 1992 it would be replaced by the Grand Prix. As a result, there were no changes to the 1991 Pontiac 6000.
A 4-door sedan or wagon, the 1991 6000 was offered as either the base LE or SE. The SE included a rear spoiler, roof rails, and more supportive seats. A sportier package added ground effects and ABS brakes. Both trims came with a 2.3-liter, 140-hp V6 engine with a 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission. No manual was offered. The 1991 6000 sedan fit five comfortably with an equally roomy trunk. The wagon supposedly sat eight adults.
Over the years, the Pontiac 6000 gets high marks for dependability and reliability from owners. The 1991 6000 is no exception. Drivers note that it is much speedier than its bland appearance implies, with an extremely durable engine. Acceleration is quick and impressive, and both sedan and wagon fit a lot of cargo and passengers. Parts are cheap and easy to find. Other owners wish for more horsepower and more style. A front bench seat that doesn't seem to recline means little back support for long drives.
