Reviewed a 1991 Mazda B2200 Extended Cab RWD on Mar 31, 2014
I have owned 3 of these for some reason, I don't know why. My first one cost me $500, and the other two were both cost me $750. I mean it's a decent vehicle that gets decent gas mileage. It is one of thee most cheapiest and easiest vehicle to maintain and work on if need be, especially if you swap to a weber carburetor because that will cancel out most the vacume lines giving you less to worry about and making your engine bare and a sinch to work on or tinker with. I rebuilt the motor in all 3 off mine and it was too simple. It's a good vehicle for daily commute and short trips but lacks comfort for any long trips. The truck does lack power, not much passing power, you can do it just leave a little room to get a running start. The extended cab has back seats but it's so small it's not even worth trying to put anyone back there, it's just nice to have for a little extra space in the cab for some groceries or something. Not good for towing anything other then a small motorcycle trailer, don't try to tow anything big or heavy. If you use it in the winter in snow make sure you have some weight in the back and some good snow tires, this truck isn't really that great in the snow. Theres nothing really good about it other then being simple and for a little truck theres nothing really bad about it.

Performance - give it time it will finally get there. Build quality - Better than current new vehicles. Everything still works including A/C. Appearance - Still looks good. Never kept inside but paint still glossy. Interior starting to deteriorate (door panels cracking) otherwise still good. Cost of Ownership - Less than $600 in last 10yrs. Timing belt, set of tires, 2 batteries and rebuild of clutch slave cylinder. Just past annual safety check in Aug. Good for another year. Will need original exhaust system replaced in next few months. Fun factor - Not fun but reliable and practical. Needs power steering.

Performance: good acceleration, good braking, great handling Build quality: stays together as long as you don't get near other drivers (hehe) Appearance: outside- ok, when all pannels are brand new inside-kinda ugly--full of rivets, zip ties, and duct tape Cost: fairly cheap Fun factor: totally awesome!!!
