Overview

For 1990, Dodge gave us the 2-door hatchback. Identical to the Plymouth Colt, the hatchback was a bigger model than in previous years, both in height, length, and width, offering more leg room and storage space.
The 1990 Dodge Colt came in three trims -- base, GL, and GT. There was also a 4-door DL station wagon with 2WD standard and 4WD optional. Base engine was a 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder, 81-horsepower paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. The GT featured a 1.6-liter, 113-horsepower engine paired with a 5-speed manual. Automatic transmission was optional on only the GL and GT trims. The 4WD wagon required a bit higher horsepower and was rated at 87-hp. Also available was the 4-door Vista Wagon, with a 2.0-liter, 96-horsepower engine.
Though experts give the 1990 Colt average ratings, owners love this car because it is affordable, reliable, and gets great gas mileage, around 25 city/29 highway. It is an energetic compact that works great as a city car. The extra leg room in the back and increased cargo space is also a highlight.

This car looks good. Has good gas millage, acceleration and is easy to work on. Hope to drive it until it falls apart has given us great service and still does. I have never had any regrets about owning this car.

its performance is good but not the best dew to lak of acceleration it has very good braking handling is like every other car for the build quality its just the things basics that it needed in repairs the exterior of the car is nice but the interior is a little crowded in the back seat but the front is nice and roomy im not sure what the mileage is but its very cheap and the parts are not expensive this car is fun for a learner but its more of a small family car.

This was probably the best of all the cars I have owned in many respects. It was fuel injected for the price of a carb Honda Civic at the time and had many options that the Honda did not have in the same price category. It was quiet, smooth and surprisingly quick for a 1.5 litre. It could run smoothly on the highway at 80 mph and give you 40-44 mpg on a Canadian gallon. It was small and handled like a go cart. Cost of ownership was very little, as stated 40- 44mpg with no major repairs over the 160000kms that I owned the vehicle ... replaced brakes, tires and one altenator, This car was fun and cheap.
