The hatchback is gone in 1993, and the Colt now comes as either a 2-door coupe or a 4-door sedan. Identical twin to the Plymouth Colt, the Dodge Colt is short on options, but long on economy.

Standard on all 2-door coupe models and on the base 4-door sedan is the holdover 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder, 92-horsepower engine. The 4-door GL sedan featured a new 1.8-liter, 4-cylinder, 113-horsepower engine, which was also optional on the base sedan, but not for the coupe. A five-speed manual transmission came standard, with an optional automatic on the base 4-door and all GL models.

Owners rave about this car's surprising peppiness and maneuverability on the roads. They are also surprised by the speeds it can reach (albeit getting there slowly). The biggest selling point for the 1993 Dodge Colt is its economic value. Good gas mileage and consistent reliability make it a nice first car for a student or family. Biggest complaints dealt with a lack of engine power and cramped backseat in the 2-door coupe. This wasn't imagined -- although it had a longer wheelbase than previous years, the 1993 Dodge Colt had reduced its head and leg room, particular in the 2-door coupe.
