Used 1989 Vauxhall Astra for Sale near Mount Airy, MD

The Vauxhall Astra GTE was launched back in 1983 and was a legendary piece of kit, knocking the Golf GTi right off the number one slot and winning all sorts of motorsport events especially WRC Various models were available but key players were the Astra GTE 2.0 8V 115 BHP, also available in convertible, and the beastly 2.0 16v 150 BHP red top monster. There were some early models with 1.8 litre engines but to be honest these are not worth mentioning The was also a very limited “Champion” edition which was the only GTE to come with leather seats as standard Handling is a bit iffy but can be easily sorted out with some up-rated suspension. Unfortunately time has not been kind to these cars some examples getting on for 25 years old so watch out for rust especially around the rear arches.

really good looking car,good performance,torque steers for fun,only problem is there rare now and 99% of them will have been thrashed to within an inch of there lives as mine was but it never let me down although it did threaten to a few times i would not hessitate in getting another one,ill take the full fat version next time thogh,the 16v

modifications of engine, suspension, makes this a real fun go-cart........i should have lost my license years ago with this car....one has to carefully check other drivers for plain clothes police before racing anyone ==== wha hhh hhh hhhh hho ooo!

The handling is spot on, it goes like stink with R1 carbs,the only problem is the driver having a red mist like moment now and again. The body work at the moment is good, but soon can be rearranged whn the armco barrier looms!!!
