This truck was my baby. I bought it for $600 out of a field. It didnt have a ton of rust on it yet. Just the corners of the doors. I swapped the diesel engine for a 1.7L Jetta engine and put a 2 barrel weber carbuerator on it. This thing accelerated like it was going to rip the halfshafts off. I had it painted some type of GM blue with a chrome pinstripe. It had a cherry bomb muffler on it that sounded pretty good for a 4cyl.

badass. fun to drive, decent to work on. just being an older car it had tons of problems. i swapped in a 2.0L I4 from a 96 GTI, full motor swap and all wiring after the stock motor started to crap out (terrible injection system). everything that i hadn't already replaced began failing on me and being a NY car it was falling apart. bitter sweet seeing it go but alas...moving on...
