About 1979 Honda Accord
The 1979 Honda Accord remains little changed from earlier Accord models. The wheelbase is still slightly better than 93 inches, the engine is still a 4 cylinder, 1.6 liter 12 valve SOHC. A new trim became available this year, appealing to more families: the four-door sedan that increased overall length and competed with the Corono by Toyota. Fuel efficiency is still the Accord's biggest draw — along with its passenger room. That said though, the Civic was still outselling the Accord and people were having more fun with their Civics as well.
