Overview

The 1978 Blazer featured many changes. New for 1978 was an improved instrument panel to increase the comfort of those up front, and many changes to increase the comfort of those in the back seat.
A new rear compartment design made entering and exiting the vehicle much easier. In addition, the floor was flattened around the rear seat to allow more leg room for back-seat passengers.
The standard engine did not change; it remained the 250-ci V8 rated at 100 horsepower at 3600 rpm, with three optional engines: a 305-ci V8 rated at 140 horsepower, a 350-ci V8 rated at 165 horsepower, and a 400-ci V8 rated at 175 horsepower.

Its an old 4X4 but its got to be loved, trust me this big ride can and WILL run circles around these late models in 2wd, i know because i've done it! It sounds great with the dual cherry bombs, the classic ones! Cheap to fix and reliable for the most part, not the prettiest, but it's not supposed to be.

With the right tires, it rides on the highway the same as a big car. Throw on your mud tires lock in the hubs and its four wheel drive pulls like like an ox.
