Few changes for the 1977 Dodge Charger, which was a two-door mid-sized coupe built on a Cordoba frame. The 1977 Charger dropped its base and Sport models, whose body was basically absorbed into the new Monaco line.
The SE and Daytona models remained, with either a standard 318 V8, TorqueFlite auto transmission, or the optional 360, 5.9-liter, 180-hp or 200-hp engine (depending on either the 2-barrel or 4-barrel carburetor), and the top of the line 400, 6.6-liter, 190-hp engine. Cosmetically, the 1977 Charger got a redesigned grille.
Though not as attractive, and frankly more boring than the old Chargers, owners liked the dependability of the new Charger line, particularly the quiet ride provided by its strong suspension system.

(5 reviews)Bought at 39,000 miles. Car was still tight, and handled well. Original 360 2-bbl had been sold, so I took the 400 out of my '76 Chrysler Cordoba and put that in it. Car was two tone, with Black over silver paint, and Dodge Daytona graphics on the sides. Black Leather interior, 3-spd auto on the floor. An all around nice car, and very powerful with the 400.
first car still have it! 400 big block 4 barrel carb. only thing that sux it that lean burn crap!!!
0 to 60 in 15 minutes with the 318 2 bbl. 80 to 120 in nothing flat. big and bulky. a cordoba with different tailights. great highway cruiser and great highway mileage. loved the buckets and the slapstick in the console. loved the factory ralley wheels and the trunk that would fit 5 bodies lol
A 1977 Dodge Charger was my very first car. I bought it in 1984 and had it until 1986. It was a beautiful car and I wish I still had it. I am looking for one now at 44. Mine was Dark Crown, with tan velour interior. It had a AM/FM 8-Track with AC, PS, PB, PW. Miss that car
