Used Ford Thunderbird for Sale near Bryan, TX
The second of the 'Big Bird' models, the 1973 Ford Thunderbird had very few changes from the previous year. The front end had gotten a slight tweak, with a new grille (sometimes described as an 'egg crate' grille) and dual headlights. Opera windows were also offered for the first time in this model year.
The base engine for the '73 Thunderbird was a 429 cubic inch, 7.0 liter V8 engine with a 360-horsepower output. Buyers could upgrade to a 460 cubic inch, 7.5 liter V-8 if they wanted even more muscle under the hood.
The 1973 Thunderbird was a big old car, closer to a luxury limo than the zippy sports racer it had originally been meant to emulate. Some drivers complained that the '73 Ford Thunderbird was just a rebranded Lincoln Continental, and the two cars did share many features!

(3 reviews)This car runs great and it is reliable....this car hasnt had any build flaws except for the replacement of the fuel pump about 2 years ago....the interior to my knowledge is all original and on the outside there are no flaws except for a small rust spot by the hard top....cost of ownership is not that bad right now to keep it fueled its a little outrageous because of high gas prices....its definitely a fun car to drive because with it being so old it turns heads going down the road especially the younger generations.
Years ago I bought a 73 bird for $600, fixed it up and had about 4 years of the time of my life for a 17 - 20 year old kid. I had to sell it when in school as I just couldn't afford to maintain it or feed it! Recently I found and purhcased a one owner w/ 148K on it and it is just a dream. I have never had so much from a car then and now!
My first muscle car, and by muscle...there was A LOT of it. This thing was a tank. I remember I had actually hydroplaned one night into a hill and it did nothing to the car. I moved a mill before hurting the car. I would still have this car too if it had no went up in flames.
