The 1967 Chevelle SS kept the RPO L35 as its base engine, complete with its 396-cubic-inch V8 rated at 325 horsepower. Although the 375-horsepower engine was no longer available, aftermarket parts were available to tune the 350-horsepower engine to the equivalent of 375. The '67 Chevelle received new 14-inch wheels as well as the new option of front disk brakes. On the exterior, a new bumper allowed more air pass-through, giving the car an appearance that some have compared to a mouth agape. On the power front, the car lost some acceleration, going from 0-60 in 6.5 seconds, up .5 seconds from previous models.
