You can open the foot vents and angle the vent windows, and get this great breeze blowing throughout the entire cab, features not available on any new car. Half the neighborhood wanted to go out cruising on a regular basis, and most even wanted to ride in the back to the swimming hole or just to get an ice cream. It was definitely a very popular vehicle to family friends and neighbors. It was like a fulfillment of a poor mans dream truck, and one sweet ride. Oh yes lets not forget another great thing about it, and that is working on it. I am no mechanic but I could rebuild this engine or any issue it could have. Every part is still available at cheap prices. If it has a solid body you can make it run and drive like new without costing an arm and leg. Certainly a piece of history well worth owning. Just make sure you only pay what it's worth and you won't loose money on a classic, antique, C-10 chevy, their value can only go up.
Plenty of torque, minor body damage, classic and tough look, it puts most newer cars to shame and most definitely stands out in a parking lot or going down the road. Has a great rumble and will make the smoke pour off of the tires
Twas the beastly project i had. dropping a 332 roller engine in a tubber and lowered 66 chevy short bed. the engine came out of a 66 nova that was a drag car. complete roller engine. the interior needed work but the truck was mean. had a low deep sound.. i kinda wish i wouldnt of sold it
Most fun you can have with your clothes on Fast and fun, leaked like a sieve, went thru tyres like they were going out of fashion, drank fuel at a phenomenal rate, but i didn't care it was Awesome and surprised loads of more expensive cars at the lights lol
This old truck was all original with the 283. Ran barely...lol Bought it for $400 so I think I got a great deal. Needed a little body work but for its age was in good shape. Had plans to put the body on a swb frame and get a different bed but funding ran out...lol I would like to get another one later on.
