I loved that first Healy! My old man had a new MGB and I could take him easily, but that is not what I really lliked about the car. At eighteen it was a real chick magnet! There are so many things I remember about that car. I even remember what was required to have any sort of a love life in it. When I bought it, which was from Bill Brack, I took it the 250 miles from Clarkson and Sports Cars Unlimited to North Bay. ON the way the rocker panels fell off. Both of them! Did I care. Not in your life! The sprinigs eventually gave up, but I put in new ones and off I went again. It had great power for it's day and handled much better than my Dad's B. It was white with blue side panels which made it stand out amongst other Healeys. It constantly needed something, but it was like a sail boat. It was always a labour of love and to drive on a windy stretdch of road with the top down and the wind in my hair is something I long to re-experience.

My '59 A-H 3000 is the most fun car I own, it may not be the fastest, and it's not the most expensive but theres somthing about that inline 6 pushing about 100 horsepower. It's build pretty well for a British car, I havn't had any real problems with it other then the occational leak. It cost about 50 grand, and with insurence and maintence, it's about 15 grand a year. But getting it up to 110 is so much more fun then any other i car I've ever driven!
