This dealer told us the car was available in the morning and we scheduled a test drive for the afternoon. We have 3 kids and we drove separately in two cars since we might have traded in one of them. We drove all the way there (an hour drive) and right as we pulled into their parking lot they told us the car had sold. I understand that these things happen, but this left a very bad taste in our mouth. They could have called us earlier but they wanted to make sure we were still coming in case the other buyer fell through.

Be very careful and confirm the final price before making the trip. I found a vehicle on CarGurus listed for $14,187 including fees. I contacted the dealership and spoke with Vanessa. I specifically asked if there would be any additional fees beyond the listed price and requested a ballpark estimate of what to expect. I was told it would only be “a couple hundred dollars” more. Based on that information, we drove an hour each way twice. However, when we were ready to purchase, the final price was jumped up significantly higher, around $17,500, due to an hidden additional $2,000 dealer fee and other added charges that were not clearly communicated upfront. I was disappointed because I had asked directly about extra fees before making the trip and felt the pricing information provided over the phone did not match what was presented at the dealership. It also completely explains why that base-model (no gps, no touchscreen) vehicle has been sold for so many months
