Carmax is always a joke. Everytime I go there for an appraisal to sell or a vehicle purchase the experience is sub par. Their pricing is high, I expect a higher quality used vehicle for that money, but the last 2 times I've gone to the Schaumurg location the vehicles are in need of brake rotors, unacceptable finish - rail dust, large dents repairs etc. Then like most dealers, low balling on the trade borders on disrespectful. Word to the wise, pick your automotive search days wisely here. It's like a factory on a Saturday. You end up hurded like cattle just to get to the point of a test drive. Try and go M-F mid day.

I worked with Aaron at Golf Mill Chevrolet and was initially pleased. Getting approved online was convenient, and Aaron was friendly and helpful during that stage. ​Communication changed once I asked specific financing questions. My deposit limits were also ignored for a much higher ask. After he ask me what the most I could pay. He was supposed to work with that. ​I emailed Aaron for written clarification on loan terms before I came into the dealership, but received no response. Since approval happened online, basic financial details should have been handled the same way. He was pressuring me to come into the dealership before answering questions regarding my terms. I guess he thought that he would be able to convince me to accept terms of I came to the dealership. ​I ultimately bought elsewhere. Aaron was polite, but transparency and communication matter when making a major financial decision. Customers deserve clear terms before committing.
