My wife and I recently went to Land Rover Rockland to purchase a used GMC Yukon from their inventory. I initially worked with one of their salesmen, John, who was great throughout the shopping and price negotiation process. I explained that I intended to pay cash for the vehicle, but it would take a few days for the funds to become available. I was told they could not hold the vehicle and that it could be sold before the cash arrived. John suggested financing the vehicle temporarily and paying it off once I received the car, assuring me there would be no penalty, which I agreed to. When we met with the finance manager, the experience changed significantly. She attempted to pressure us into keeping the loan open for at least three months so the dealership could avoid a bank penalty. I found that highly unprofessional.
