After skipping the 2026 model year, the 2027 Kia Telluride returns with a new generation and shakes up the large, three-row SUV segment with an edgy design, a new hybrid, and more interior space. The new Telluride Hybrid-or what Kia officially calls the Telluride HEV (for "hybrid electric vehicle")-shares its platform with and takes direct aim at the Hyundai Palisade Hybrid. Other competitors include the Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, Mazda CX-90, Volkswagen Atlas, and Ford Explorer, though only the Highlander and CX-90 offer hybrid options.

What’s New for the 2027 Kia Telluride Hybrid
As a next-generation vehicle, the 2027 Kia Telluride is completely new. In addition to the new hybrid option, the redesigned Telluride also gets available relaxation seats, a massaging driver’s seat, power-operated, climate-controlled second-row captain’s chairs, and a third-row heated seat. Telluride HEV trims include the EX, SX, SX X-Line, SX Prestige, and SX Prestige X-Line.
Design
In many ways, the design of the 2027 Kia Telluride harkens back to the original model released in 2020. The upright stance and iconic daytime running lights (DRLs) make this immediately recognizable as a Telluride, and the flush door handles give it a modern flair. Standard wheels are 18 inches, but 20-inch wheels are available, and the X-Line models feature 21-inch wheels. In lieu of exterior styling packages, the Telluride Hybrid X-Line has blacked-out wheel arches, side mirrors, beltline trim, and D-pillars. Additionally, the unique mesh grille on the X-Line is paired with a squared-off lower black bumper.
Powertrain
The 2027 Kia Telluride Hybrid combines a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with a 1.65-kWH lithium-ion battery and electric motors that produce 329 horsepower in total. A six-speed automatic is the only available transmission. Though a complete set of fuel economy numbers hadn’t been released at the time of this writing, Kia estimates that the Hybrid will have a combined rating of 35 mpg. The EX and SX come with standard front-wheel drive (FWD) or optional all-wheel drive (AWD); all other trims are only available with AWD. When properly equipped, the 2027 Telluride Hybrid can tow up to 4,500 pounds.

Interior
The interior of the new Kia Telluride Hybrid has a clean and minimalist design with a large mono screen in upper trims that houses the gauge cluster and infotainment screen. While the gas model accommodates up to eight people, the Hybrid only has seven-passenger seating. Cargo capacity behind the third row is 21.3 cubic feet, and max cargo volume is 88.3 cubic feet. Synthetic leather seating surfaces and a power tilt-slide sunroof are standard, but all trims above the EX get a dual sunroof with front tilt-slide functionality.
Technology
As you would expect from a next-gen model, the 2027 Kia Telluride Hybrid is packed with the latest and greatest technology. This includes a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, tri-zone climate control, a Wi-Fi hotspot, six USB ports, and a pair of wireless phone chargers. Among the available upgrades are dual 12.3-inch screens, the ability to use your phone as a key, a digital camera mirror, a head-up display, and a 14-speaker Meridian surround-sound system.
Safety
On the safety front, all 2027 Kia Telluride Hybrids arrive with blind-spot monitoring, driver-attention warning, forward-collision avoidance with pedestrian detection, high-beam assist, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert, safe-exit assist, a rear occupant alert, and more. Several additional systems are available, such as forward-collision avoidance at junctions and while changing lanes, automatic reverse braking, and a surround-view camera. The 2027 Telluride has yet to be crash-tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), but Kia has stated it is targeting an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award.

Pricing and Release Date
