2026 Toyota Camry Pricing, Specs, and Release Date

by Chris Teague

The Toyota Camry received a complete redesign for the 2025 model year, giving it a new, hybrid-only powertrain, refined styling, and the latest tech and safety features. While it remains the value-forward pick for people who need a reliable commuter sedan, the latest Camry is much more visually interesting, and the available all-wheel drive makes it a legitimate all-weather family hauler.

What’s New for the 2026 Toyota Camry

Toyota gave the Camry a full overhaul for 2025, but changes for 2026 are much less impactful. The only update is the return of the Nightshade edition, which comes with black exterior trim, black wheels, and unique badging.

Design

The new Camry features less polarizing styling than its predecessor, with smoother lines and a more streamlined overall design. That said, it still has an oversized grille, though it’s less dramatic than the outgoing model’s gaping mouth. Toyota offers a few different wheel designs depending on the trim, and there are no visual differences between front- and all-wheel drive models, other than the badges.

Powertrain

Toyota equips a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and electric motors, with front-drive models receiving two electric units and all-wheel drive variants seeing three. Combined output for the front-wheel drive models is 225 horsepower, and the extra motor gives AWD models a boost to 232 horsepower. A continuously variable transmission is standard. That combination doesn’t look all that impressive on paper, but the electric motors generate torque off the line, making the car feel quicker and more responsive than its gas-only counterparts. Additionally, while CVTs are generally far from the most engaging transmission option, Toyota tuned the Camry’s gearbox to give it a more refined and linear feel.

Interior

The Camry seats five people on standard cloth upholstery. Higher trims upgrade to synthetic or genuine leather. Heated and ventilated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and power front-seat adjustments are available. Both rows offer ample seating space, though the rear center seat is the least accommodating in the house. The cabin feels high-quality and features sturdy but nice-feeling materials.

Technology

An 8-inch touchscreen comes standard, offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other standard tech features include Bluetooth, SiriusXM radio, wireless charging, six speakers, five USB ports, and HD radio. Higher trims step up to a 12.3-inch touchscreen and 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and add navigation, a JBL stereo, and more.

Safety

The 2026 Camry hasn’t been fully crash tested yet, but it should achieve the same scores as the 2025 model. It earned a Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Standard driver-assist features include automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, safe exit warnings, automatic high beams, traffic-sign recognition, and more.
