What’s New for the 2026 Subaru Trailseeker
Everything is new. This electric crossover is the brand’s second, and it builds on the Solterra crossover with more passenger and cargo space, higher ground clearance, and impressive towing capacity for an EV, all of which reflect Subaru’s practical and functional personality. This new addition to the Subaru lineup supports the brand’s reputation for great safety features and dependable symmetrical all-wheel drive (AWD).
Design
The Trailseeker backs up its name with standard AWD and 8.3 inches of ground clearance, along with a traditional crossover SUV profile. It’s about 6 inches longer and about an inch taller than its Solterra sibling, though it boasts an all-new light signature with an illuminated Subaru logo up front and a three-dimensional logo at the rear. This lighting design is adapted to the redesigned Solterra as well, to establish a visual connection across Subaru’s EV vehicle family. The Trailseeker is available with 18- and 20-inch alloy wheel designs.
Powertrain
The Trailseeker comes standard with a pair of electric motors and a 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Subaru projects this powertrain will be good for about 375 horsepower and more than 260 miles of range. The dual-motor setup powers Subaru’s signature AWD system with snow/dirt and snow/mud modes, enhancing the Trailseeker’s off-road capability. Properly equipped, the Trailseeker can tow up to 3,500 pounds.

Interior
The Subaru Trailseeker seats five across its two rows. The open, airy cabin features a big touchscreen infotainment display and a spacious center console. The cabin is bigger than the Solterra, offering significantly more cargo space as well as more generous seating. A flat floor contributes to the cabin’s warm and welcoming feel.
Technology
The Trailseeker debuts with Subaru’s biggest-ever touchscreen, measuring in at 14 inches. The infotainment system includes a pair of wireless chargers as well as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and two second-row USB-C fast chargers. More details about the Trailseeker’s infotainment system will be available closer to its on-sale date.
Safety
The Subaru Trailseeker will come standard with the brand’s EyeSight safety package. Features include a surround-view camera, advanced adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-change assist, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, and an emergency stop assist that takes effect if the vehicle detects the driver is unresponsive. The 2026 Subaru Trailseeker has not yet been evaluated for crashworthiness by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), though Subaru vehicles typically fare well in these tests.

Pricing and Release Date
The Subaru Trailseeker will go on sale in early 2026 at Subaru dealerships nationwide. Though there are few details known about the Trailseeker as of this writing, there are plenty more to come. More information, such as trim levels, specifications not yet announced, and pricing, will be available closer to the Trailseeker’s on-sale date.
