The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV is a midsize luxury electric SUV that’s related to the EQE sedan and serves as a somewhat more affordable alternative to the larger EQS lineup. Competitors include the Lucid Gravity, BMW iX, Tesla Model X, and other models in the Mercedes EQE and EQS ranges.

What’s New for the 2026 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV
The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV was introduced for the 2023 model year alongside the closely related EQE sedan. For 2026, the EQE SUV lineup is overhauled with two new base trims, so the EQE 320+ and EQE 320 4Matic replace last year’s EQE 350+ and EQE 350 4Matic. These two trims both get a 27-horsepower bump. The EQE lineup is now compatible with the Tesla Supercharger network thanks to a newly standard NACS (North American Charging Standard) DC fast charging adapter, and the MBUX Hyperscreen 56-inch display is newly available on the base trims. Finally, the AMG EQE SUV carries over mostly unchanged, though with new wheel and color options.
Design
The EQE SUV hasn’t changed much over its four years on the market. This sleek SUV looks much like the larger EQS, and both designs are fitting for a premium luxury electric vehicle. That said, there’s not much about the EQE SUV that boldly advertises its electric powertrains. It’s round and aerodynamic, without the bulbousness of Tesla’s SUVs. For 2026, the AMG version is now available with a new exterior package with body-color wheel arches, a new Patagonia Red Metallic paint, and a new 21-inch multispoke wheel design with a gray finish.
Powertrain
The EQE SUV lineup shares its powertrains with the EQE Sedan. Though the base model names have changed this year, and they benefit from 27 more horsepower, the powertrains are otherwise unchanged. The EQE 320+ SUV features a single electric motor on the rear axle, rated for 315 horsepower and 416 pound-feet of torque, while the EQE 320 4Matic gets a second motor up front, which upgrades to 564 lb-ft and all-wheel drive (AWD). The AMG EQE SUV features 617 hp, 701 lb-ft, and AWD. Expect range of up to 270 miles and a 32-minute DC fast-charging time from 10 to 80 percent.

Interior
The 2026 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV has a welcoming interior, though it’s heavy on the digital screen space. The EQE SUV seats five, with standard synthetic leather upholstery and heated front seats. Options include genuine leather, ventilated and massaging front seats, and heated rear seats. Cargo space falls short, with just 14 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and, unlike most other SUVs, no frunk. However, with the rear seats folded, there’s a maximum of 55 cubic feet.
Technology
The 2026 EQE SUV has the tech-heavy cabin customers will expect from a premium electric vehicle. The standard infotainment system pairs a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and a 12.8-inch touchscreen running the Mercedes MBUX interface, with features such as wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPay and Android Auto, and a Burmester surround-sound stereo system. Shoppers who covet the sleek, sophisticated Mercedes Hyperscreen display, which is a single curved screen 56 inches wide, can now add this feature to the base EQE SUV trims.
Safety
Mercedes-Benz equips the 2026 EQE SUV with a standard rearview camera as well as a 360-degree camera system, forward automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, frontal and cross-traffic collision mitigation, front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitors, and driver-attention monitoring. The 2026 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV has not been evaluated in Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) or National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) crash tests. This is common for expensive luxury cars that sell in small numbers.

Pricing and Release Date
