What’s New for the 2026 Mercedes-Benz EQE
The 2026 model year marks the fourth year of the Mercedes-Benz EQE sedan lineup, and this year, it gets some changes to the trim lineup plus some updates to the powertrains. Last year’s EQE 350+ and EQE 350 4Matic models have been discontinued in favor of the new EQE 320+ and EQE 320 4Matic. These models get an increase of 27 horsepower and are a half-second quicker in the zero-to-60-mph run. The EQE now includes a standard NACS (North American Charging Standard) DC charging adapter, which provides access to the Tesla Supercharger network. Finally, there are new 20- and 21-inch wheel designs available, and the MBUX Hyperscreen 56-inch infotainment display is now available.
Design
The EQE is a sleek and sultry midsize four-door sedan that doesn’t advertise its EV underpinnings. It looks much like the bigger EQS sedan, which is typical of Mercedes design. For 2026, Mercedes offers several new wheel designs, including a new 21-inch multispoke turbine design available exclusively on the AMG version of the EQE.
Powertrain
The base EQE 320+ comes powered by a single electric motor that drives the rear wheels, and makes 315 horsepower and 416 pound-feet of torque. That’s an increase of 27 horsepower compared to last year’s base EQE. The EQE 320 4Matic adds a motor to the front axle, gaining all-wheel drive (AWD) and an increase in torque, to 564 lb-ft. Finally, the AMG EQE, which also has AWD, is rated for 617 hp and 701 lb-ft. The base EQE has an estimated range of up to 308 miles and can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in about 32 minutes on a DC fast charger.

Interior
The Mercedes EQE has a futuristic cabin that’s well-suited to both an electric car and a premium luxury vehicle, particularly when fitted with the 56-inch Hyperscreen. This sedan seats five on standard synthetic leather upholstery, though real leather is optional, and there are plenty of other upgrades on the menu. The front seats are good for all-day comfort and include standard seat heaters. Ventilation and massage are available.
Technology
The 2026 EQE comes standard with a 12.3-inch digital instrument display paired with a 12.8-inch touchscreen display that runs Mercedes’ sophisticated MBUX infotainment system. MBUX is considered user-friendly and intuitive, and it has advanced optional features like augmented reality navigation. Standard features include wireless Apple CarPay and Android Auto, wireless charging, and a surround-sound Burmester audio system with 15 speakers. For 2026, the EQE is now available with the Mercedes Hyperscreen display, which spans 56 inches and curves across the dash.
Safety
The Mercedes-Benz EQE is well-equipped with a long list of high-tech safety features. The list includes a rearview camera, a 360-degree camera system, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, frontal and cross-traffic collision mitigation, front and rear parking sensors, and driver-attention monitoring. The 2026 Mercedes-Benz EQE Sedan hasn’t yet been crash-tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). This is common for luxury cars that sell in low volume.

Pricing and Release Date
The 2026 Mercedes-Benz EQE will go on sale near the end of 2025. As of this writing, Mercedes lists pricing as starting at $64,950 for the base EQE 320+, $67,450 for the EQE 320 4Matic, and $97,550 for the AMG EQE. These prices do not include a destination charge of $1,250.
