The Honda Accord is one of a few remaining midsize sedans—a class that used to be the default family car. It seats five in comfort, boasts sporty looks, and remains a smart buy in a world of more expensive SUVs. It goes up against the Toyota Camry, the Hyundai Sonata, and the Nissan Altima.

What’s New for the 2026 Honda Accord
For 2026, the Honda Accord gets a bigger infotainment touchscreen that has grown from 7 to 9 inches. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto have become standard, as has wireless smartphone charging, and the wheels on the SE trim have grown from 17 to 19 inches. Otherwise, the Accord is little changed from the 11th-generation model that debuted for the 2023 model year.
Design
Though classified as midsize, the Accord sedan has a large footprint. However, it looks sporty, with a sleek fastback shape, a simple dark grille, and a clean profile. It sits on 17-inch or athletic-looking 19-inch alloy wheels. The 2026 Accord lacks some of the chrome trim and the design flair of the last generation, but it’s still uncluttered and quite attractive.
Powertrain
The base engine in the Accord LX and SE is a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder that makes 192 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque. Honda pairs it with a continuously variable automatic transmission that routes the power to the front wheels. All-wheel drive is not available with the Accord.
The LX model is EPA-rated at 29 mpg city, 37 mpg highway, and 32 mpg combined, while the SE carries ratings of 28/36/31 mpg.

Interior
The five-passenger, four-door Accord LE comes with cloth upholstery, manually adjustable front seats, and automatic climate control. Opt for the SE and you'll get standard upgrades including a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a power sunroof, and a 60/40 split-folding rear seat. That last feature allows for expansion of the 2026 Accord's 16.7-cubic-foot trunk.
Technology
The Accord LX's technology and entertainment features consist of a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless smartphone charger, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a 160-watt, four-speaker audio system. The SE upgrades to an eight-speaker, 180-watt audio system.
All 2026 Accords include the HondaLink app, which lets owners check vehicle status, schedule service appointments, start the car remotely, find their car, and more.
Safety
The standard Honda Sensing bundle of active safety features includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic-sign recognition, and traffic-jam assist that handles the steering, throttle and braking in low-speed highway situations. Every Accord also gets automatic high-beam headlights, a driver-attention monitor, and a rear-occupant reminder. The SE adds a blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert.
The Accord scores well in crash tests, earning a five-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's (IIHS) Top Safety Pick+ award.
