What’s New for the 2026 Ford Transit Cargo
The Ford Transit Cargo van receives a digital refresh for 2026, with new standard and available equipment. The latest features include an 8-inch cluster display, a 12-inch infotainment screen with Sync 4, standard Ford Co-Pilot 360, available Co-Pilot 360 2.0, and a 5G modem that provides a Wi-Fi hotspot for up to 10 devices. Outside, there are new exterior badges, new taillights, and fresh exterior paint colors. Additionally, Delivery Assist has been added to the Parcel Delivery Package, which automatically activates the hazard lights and closes open windows when the van is in park, then locks the doors when the driver exits the vehicle.
Design
Utility and cargo capacity are obviously more important than style in a van, but there are some cool colors. As well as your traditional black, white, and gray paint options, the Transit Cargo van also offers Blue Metallic and Race Red as well as School Bus Yellow for fleet vehicles. Wheels are 16 inches, but there are several options from plain steelies to ornate Sparkle Silver alloys. While there isn’t an appearance package per se, there is an Exterior Upgrade package that includes HID lamps, wiper-activated headlights, front fog lamps, and a honeycomb mesh grille.
Powertrain
The standard powertrain in the 2026 Ford Transit Cargo van is a 275-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine, while a 300-hp 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 is also available. The Transit comes standard with rear-wheel drive (RWD), and all-wheel drive (AWD) is optional. Regardless of engine or drivetrain, the only transmission is a 10-speed automatic. Depending on your range needs, a 25-gallon fuel tank is standard, but a 31-gallon tank is available. The maximum payload—4,873 pounds—requires opting for the T350HD model equipped with the EcoBoost engine, optional dual rear-wheels, and AWD. If you carry lighter loads, check out the T150 with the low roof, a maximum payload up to 3,452 pounds, and a maximum towing capacity of 6,900 pounds.

Interior
As a cargo van, the 2026 Transit is a two-passenger vehicle. Gray vinyl seats are standard, while gray and black cloth are available. Swivel seats are available for the driver and the front passenger, and Ford will ditch the front passenger seat if you want it to. Headroom varies depending on roof height, with 40.8, 52, and 56.6 inches on low, medium, and high roofs, respectively. Cargo volume varies based on the vehicle's length and roof height. Maximum cargo capacity is 487.3 cubic feet with the high roof and extended length, while the regular length Transit with the low roof offers 246.7 cubic feet. If you’re looking at the long version, you’ll see capacities range from 277.7 to 404.3 cubic feet.
Technology
One of the Transit Cargo van's huge selling points is its abundance of technology. A 12-inch infotainment screen with Ford’s Sync 4 with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is now standard. Other tech features include automatic rain-sensing wipers, push-button start, a 5G modem, and cruise control. Available features include a rear camera mirror and passive entry. Additionally, the cargo van offers Ford’s Pro Power Onboard, which turns the vehicle into a mobile generator.
Safety
The 2026 Ford Transit Cargo van comes standard with lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking with pre-collision assist, front and rear parking sensors, automatic high beam headlights, driver alert, intersection assist, and post-collision braking. Available features include a 360-degree camera, a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane centering, side parking sensors, and automatic reverse braking. Neither the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) nor the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) had crash tested the Transit Cargo van at the time of writing.

Pricing and Release Date
The 2026 Ford Transit Cargo van is available now. At the time of writing, the base price was $50,495, including destination fees. As a cargo van, you’ll have additional options for the GVWR Payload packages and regular, long, and extended length variants—all of which add extra cost.
